Benefits & Services
As an Imperial alumnus, you are entitled to a variety of exclusive services and benefits designed to enhance your connection with the College. Make the most of your Imperial connection by staying in touch with the College, taking advantage of exclusive alumni benefits and joining our online networks.
- Create your own Imperial alumni email address
Your Imperial degree is something to be proud of. Shout it from the rooftops every time you send an email by using an exclusive address, only available to alumni. Your new email address will end in @alumni.imperial.ac.uk. The mailbox is hosted by Google and works like a regular Gmail account. It’s easy to set up and manage, and you’ll have access to Google mailbox services including Calendar, Drive, Docs and Hangouts. To request your new email address, please email your CID/Alumni Membership Number to email@example.com, stating that you agree to the terms and conditions laid out on the website.
- A programme of events and networking opportunities
We run a wide variety of events in the UK and around the world. Network professionally, enjoy social gatherings and meet the College leadership team and Imperial researchers. Search Imperial Plexus for events near you.
- A local community is waiting to welcome you
Our alumni network is continually growing and the number of groups and networks that we have spread across the world continues to grow as well. We have a global network of more than 50 alumni groups and associations who will be delighted to welcome you. Meet alumni with similar interests and backgrounds, find a group of local alumni or reminisce about your course and discuss your area of study. Find out more about alumni groups or join a group on Imperial Plexus.
- Study discounts
Imperial alumni are entitled to discounts on further study at the College and at Imperial College Business School. Save 10% on evening classes, Summer School courses, and the School of Professional Development short courses. Alumni can receive up to 20% off the Imperial College Business School MBA programmes and Executive Education programmes. Find out more about alumni discounts on further study.
- Discounts on accommodation
Whether you're planning to visit the capital for business or leisure, Imperial College London provides alumni with great value accommodation options on campus or around central London. Explore accommodation options.
- Exclusive gym membership rate
Alumni are entitled to discounts on membership at Ethos, Imperial’s premier, state-of-the-art sports centre based in South Kensington. Learn more about alumni membership.
- The Student Union Bar
Alumni wishing to visit the Union Bar can do so at any time. The bar license requires alumni to prove their identity upon arrival, which you can now do by displaying your Imperial Plexus account. You may bring up to four guests on any one visit, and will be issued with a day pass for use until the bar closes. Recent alumni still in possession of their College identification card can present this to bar staff instead of another form of identity. Find out more about accessing the Union Bar.
- Imperial's campus libraries
As an alumnus, you can use your Imperial Plexus account as proof of identification and apply for free library membership. Your membership gives you access to visit the Central Library in South Kensington and the other campus libraries. Join the library.
- Access to the Alumni Visitor Centre
The Centre provides an exclusive space for visiting Imperial alumni and their guests to relax, meet friends and colleagues and catch up with the latest developments at the College. Located near the main entrance of the South Kensington Campus, the Centre offers free Wi-Fi access and computer terminals, a bookable meeting room (capacity for 6 people), complimentary tea, coffee and cold drinks, newspapers and magazines, and a daytime left-luggage facility. Find out more about the Alumni Visitor Centre.
Access to e-journals, e-books and databases
We are pleased to offer alumni special access to a growing numbers of online resources, available for remote access. View the full list of resources available, and details of how to access them.
- Alumni e-newsletters
We send a monthly email update containing news and ways to interact with the College, as well as quarterly updates from your department or faculty and a regular events e-newsletter. These newsletters are sent to all alumni with a valid email address, so if you haven't received your copy, why not update your details by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org?
